Pattern of the Month - October 1998

A compact medallion using rings, chains, josephine knots, locking joins, and a folded join (to attach the last ring to the first ring). Pattern can be adjusted slightly by making only 5 repeats or as many as 8 or 9. Fewer than five and the pattern starts to cup; more than nine and the edges of the medallion begin to ripple.

Notes on Abbreviations: x = locking join; and where the folded joins occurs to attach last ring to first ring J = join to next chains alongside JK8 = Josephine Knot with 8 half stitches
